Online Sports Betting – Important Tips To Consider When Betting On Horses

While it may not be as popular among the younger generations in terms of hits on some of the online sites listed on the sportsbook reviews, betting on horses remains a common option for several reasons, ranging from the immediacy of the results to the excitement of the action. Unlike the NFL and other sports, players can place a bet and then find out the result within minutes, before moving on to the next race. That is the key to what separates horse racing from other sports, and for those that are interested in trying it out, there are some important tips to consider.

The first and most important aspect of betting on horses is the same as with every other sport, as money management remains the key. Never bet more than you have in your set bankroll, and when you do wager, start slow in order to get an appreciation for the game you are playing and how it works. Always take a quick look at the history of the horses that are running, and pay attention to important sports betting trends such as how the horses have done in similar races in the past, whether or not they are trending upwards or downwards based on their recent results, and how the horses have fared on the type of track they are running on, whether it is dirt, grass, or a polysynthetic surface. Jockeys and trainers will also factor in to how well a horse runs, as you will notice the same names that keep coming up in the winner circle. Betting on horses can be both exciting and easy to learn, so it makes sense to jump in to the action today.

NFL Betting – How To Build An NFL Survivor Pool

One of the most exciting parts about the beginning of an NFL season is preparing to start a new survivor pool. The basic premise behind the survivor pool is to pick a different team every week to win their game, and as long as the pick wins, you survive to pick again the next week. While there are varying sports betting types of survivor pools out there to join, the prices can range from too little to too much, and it could be hard to coordinate. That makes it even more practical to run your own survivor pool, which can actually be really easy and a lot of fun.

Setting up a survivor pool can be as easy as rounding up a group of friends or colleagues, and recording their picks every week for as long as they are alive, until eventually a winner is announced. Where things become more complex and can be adjusted to fit the overall group’s desires is when the details of the pool need to be determined, with things such as the buy-in amount, and the possible “buy-back” option two of the most crucial things that need to be figured out. While most pools will have an overall winner determined by the final week of the season, there is still the odd chance that there could be a tie, for which you would also have to determine whether or not the two finalists will split the money, or whether or not the tiebreak will come down to some other factor such as by how many points each player’s selections won their games by, or the overall record of the teams that were selected compared to the spread listed by the pay head bookies.

Horse Betting – Options Range When It Comes To Wagering On Horses

While every different sport has its own list of possible wagers that can be selected, from the NFL, to the NHL, and to college sports, the same can be said about betting on horses. Unlike in the previous listings where you can parlay several winners throughout the day in hopes of winning one big ticket, the odd of picking out multiple winners in horse racing is much more marginal. That said, narrowing down the possibilities for a given race is a different story, and it is much easier to determine the top horses in a particular race than it is to pick the winner of the group. For those that want to use this option for betting on horses, then you will want to pick a horse to “show”, one of several options available at the top of the board.

When playing a horse to show with a pay head bookie, you are wagering that the horse will finish in the top-three, which means that whether it finishes first, second, or third really doesn’t make a difference. A similar type of wager is called betting a horse to “win-place”, which means that if the horse finishes first or second, it is considered a winner. Unlike in other sports where there is simply a winner and a loser, betting on horses changes the rules somewhat, and can lead to a greater shot at winning if you understand what you are doing. There are several more options of more exotic types of wagers including betting the exacta, quinella, trifecta, or superfecta, all wagers that include predicting the exact order that horses will finish in. These types of wagers can be a little more complex, but they make the payouts greater, and that can add another element of excitement to the sports betting.

College Football Betting – Barkley Has Emerged As Legitimate Heisman Candidate

While all of the talk in regards to both this year’s Heisman trophy and the first overall pick for next year’s NFL draft has been about Stanford Cardinal quarterback Andrew Luck, another option has emerged in recent weeks that could steal the spotlight from one of the biggest names at the college level. While he didn’t come in to this season with as much hype and support from the national media, USC Trojans’ quarterback Matt Barkley has quietly built one of the better resumes in the country as a potential Heisman winner.

While the majority of this weekend’s sports betting options are considered irrelevant to those already looking ahead to the bowl season, Barkley could have used the extra week of work to showcase his skills. However, Barkley made up for the lost game with a monster performance against the rival UCLA Bruins in California last week, throwing for six touchdown passes to help the Trojans finish with a 7-2 record in PAC-12 games. That number is just one fewer than the total number of interceptions that he has thrown all season at 7, and he has now thrown for 39 scores on the year. The fact that he has thrown for four more touchdowns than Luck, while also pitching two less interceptions will have to be considered by the Heisman voters. Barkley has never been the player talked about by the pay head bookies to go No. 1 in next year’s NFL draft, in fact, he hasn’t even declared his intentions to enter the draft, but he should be in the running for Heisman voting.
